Go is a strategic board game, and the number of possible games far exceeds the number of atoms in the known universe. The strongest computer Go programs only manage to reach an intermediate amateur level. An amateur Go player, Dr. Wang designs optimization and game theory methods for a variety of applications. He appreciates the potential of the human brain as well as the complexity of Go.
