Pramiti Sarker

Pramiti Sarker obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial and Production Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 2015.  After her B. Sc., she joined BUET  and served there for 2 years as a Lecturer. While serving as a lecturer, she concurrently studied for obtained her Master of Science degree in Industrial and Production Engineering from the same university in 2017. During her M.Sc. she worked on stochastic analysis and optimization of different processes.

Pramiti’s research interest lies in the optimization of physical task performance (Human factors and Ergonomics) which stemmed from her past research in stochastic analysis and optimization.  Thus, she joined  the Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering (IMSE) department at Iowa State University in Spring 2018 as a PhD student. Currently she is a research assistant in Physical Ergonomics and Biomechanics lab (ErgoLab) under the supervision of Dr. Gary Mirka where she is exploring the trend of muscle fatigue and recovery using Electromyography (EMG) and Dynamometer.
