Foss elected to ISU Alumni Association Board of Directors

AMES – Craig R. Foss of Fairfield, Iowa, a 1971 graduate in industrial engineering currently employed as president of the Foss, Kuiken, Gookin & Cochran, PC law firm, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Iowa State University Alumni Association. His five-year term will expire in 2012.

 

The role of the ISU Alumni Association Board of Directors is to establish policies regarding the finances, property, management, and activities of the Association for the purpose of engaging constituents in the further advancement of Iowa State University and the Alumni Association. The ultimate goal of the board is to assist the Association staff and volunteers in carrying out the Alumni Association mission and strategic plan in concert with the goals of the university and its other affiliated organizations, which include learning, scholarship, and engagement.

 

The board is composed of 20 regularly elected members and four appointed voting members. Four new directors are elected each year. The board meets four times yearly.

 

“We’re very excited to welcome Craig to the Alumni Association Board of Directors,” ISU Alumni Association president Jeff Johnson said. “He is a community leader in Fairfield and a truly distinguished alumnus of Iowa State University. Craig’s legal expertise and personal love for the university will make him a wonderful addition to our board, and his board colleagues and I look forward to working with him.”

 

As a student, Foss was involved in Delta Upsilon fraternity, Homecoming Central, Greek Week, and VEISHEA. He was a member of Gamma Gamma and Epsilon Omicron Rho honoraries, and he served as editor of the Iowa Engineer magazine. His family was named ISU Family of the Year in 2003.
